Montgomery CW is proud to present Montgomery Clean City Commission with the "Clean and Green Award" for May of 2010.
Susan Carmichael, Director of the Montgomery Clean City Commission works to keep Montgomery beautiful and to educate its citizens on the importance of being green.
And She says that being green, will have you seeing green.
“It also brings industry into the city and those industries say well this city doesn’t take pride or look it here, its really clean,” Carmichael Said.
In addition to generating jobs, the city’s green commission has several recycling drop-off locations.
These locations include Garrett Elementary School, Capitol Heights Jr. High School, Maggie Street Baptist Church, Bellingrath Jr. High School, McKee Elementary School, Floyd Middle Magnet School, Jefferson Davis High School, and Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church.
Carmichael says there will be more recycling locations opening up shortly.
